Join IlluminArts for the Premiere Screening of a film created about the 2022 IlluminArts program, "To Reach the Light". In April 2022, IlluminArts presented the Philadelphia based vocal ensemble Variant 6 in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary performance featuring six newly commissioned pieces by composers from across the United States and Europe with new original choreography performed by Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami. In the height of the pandemic, IlluminArts asked each composer to write a piece based on ideas of transformation, adaptation, growth and change: themes that resonated through the world at the time. The results were six wildly different, exciting compositions. The April 2022 performances took place in Miami at the Rubell Museum and in Philadelphia at the Glen Foerd Estate. The film, captured and edited by Alex Markow with sound engineering by The Guild Live, features fascinating interviews with the artists and composers, as well as the entire extraordinary performance. The Live Premiere Film Screening will take place at the Coral Gables Art Cinema on Saturday, December 3rd at 12 PM. Tickets are available for $10. If you are not able to attend the Live Premiere Film Screening on December 3, the film will be available online from December 3-17. Dance NOW! Miami presents Clara, a reimagining of The Nutcracker that charts the journey of a young woman, exploring and experiencing the exotic, the unknown and the forbidden, in search of love, identity and self-determination. 

Compagnia Opus Ballet will perform an excerpt from The Four Seasons, an homage to the Renaissance, and the iconic Vivaldi music and Ototeman. Their performance will include light, playful work with a popular music score.

The charm of the Holidays fascinates all audiences as Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida presents the classic ballet "The Nutcracker" to Tchaikovsky's popular score based on the tale of Ernest Hoffman. The critically acclaimed performance is choreographed and directed by renowned Ballet Master Vladimir Issaev. This awarded professional company features their own ballet stars performing the principal roles, as well as a community cast made up of local character artists and children. The engaging choreography from the fun of the party scene to the harrowing battle scene, to the enchanting kingdom of the sweets is guaranteed to entertain any age. The Nutcracker is not only the most popular ballet enjoyed by audiences around the world during this time of the year but it also serves as an introduction to ballet for young audiences.

Touch of RED by Shamel Pitts | TRIBE November 3—5, 2022 at 8 pm at Miami Theater Center Miami Light Project, in partnership with YoungArts, presents the South Florida premiere of Touch of RED by Shamel Pitts | TRIBE. Inspired by the quickness of footwork in boxing and the camaraderie within combat, this dance performance created by the visionary Brooklyn-based arts collective TRIBE—led by artistic director and choreographer Shamel Pitts—utilizes projections, animation, original soundscape, scenography by MacArthur Fellow Mimi Lien, lighting and movement to create an immersive world.
