Chopin for All: William Ge

In a double treat for music enthusiasts, the Chopin for All series proudly presents two concerts featuring the remarkable young artist, William Ge. With second place and the prestigious Chopin Prize from the 2023 MTNA National Senior Piano Competition under his belt, William, aged 16, is a rising star. William's musical journey includes a dazzling debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra in October 2022, where his interpretation of Mozart’s Concerto No. 23 garnered praise from The Philadelphia Inquirer. He is also a third-year recipient of the Chopin Foundation’s Chopin Scholarship Program and stands among the 28 Caroline D. Bradley Scholars in the class of 2025 in the United States. Join us for these unforgettable concerts, first on Sunday in Coral Gables and then on Monday in Fort Lauderdale, where William Ge will enchant audiences with his exceptional talent, including the timeless compositions of Chopin, as part of the Chopin for All series.

Chopin for All FREE Concert Series kicks off with an extraordinary young American pianist, Lewis Warren, Jr., based in Dallas, Texas. Renowned for his musical versatility and captivating connection with audiences, Lewis has been a prolific performer and composer since the age of 8. His recent triumph in winning the 2023 MTNA Young Artists Piano Competition solidifies his status as a rising star in the world of classical music. Lewis has performed with many prestigious orchestras, such as the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Session Symphony Orchestra. The upcoming concert program promises to enchant audiences with masterpieces by Chopin and Scarlatti and showcase Lewis Warren, Jr.'s own remarkable compositions. South Florida eagerly welcomes Lewis Warren, Jr. for his much-anticipated debut performance, and it's sure to be a mesmerizing evening of music that will leave a lasting impression on all who attend.

Nu Deco at the Adrienne Arsht Center ft. Durand Jones & Emily King Presented by Nu Deco Ensemble

Step into a musical time machine with Nu Deco at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Experience the enchanting melodies of 20th-century composer Maurice Ravel’s Mother Goose Suite, an electrifying collaboration with R&B sensation Durand Jones from Durand Jones & The Indications, plus the return of the soulful, GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter Emily King. Brace yourself for a fresh take on the chart-topping hits of the nine-time GRAMMY-winning superstar Rihanna and witness the world premiere of an orchestral masterpiece by composer Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. With over 500 recordings and scores for icons like Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, and Thundercat, Atwood-Ferguson’s genre-blending genius is a musical treat you won’t want to miss.

Nu Deco at the Bandshell ft. Joy Oladokun

Nu Deco kicks off 2024 with a return to the Miami Beach Bandshell! This performance on January 20 will feature a special collaboration with rising superstar, singer-songwriter Joy Oladokun. Inspired by the genres of folk, R&B, rock, and pop, Oladokun’s music is heavily influenced by her experience as a queer woman of color in the U.S. The night will also include Igor Stravinsky’s “Dumbarton Oaks Concerto,” an original work by the ensemble, and a reimagination of the music of The Police.

Nu Deco at the Adrienne Arsht Center ft. St. Paul and the Broken Bones & Will Liverman

Nu Deco rounds out 2023 with a return to the renowned Adrienne Arsht Center! This program will include “Nu Nutcracker,” a rendition of Tchaikovsky’s holiday classic with a Nu Deco twist, and a powerful suite celebrating the “Queen of Rock n’ Roll,” the iconic Tina Turner. During the program’s first half, we’re thrilled to collaborate with American operatic baritone Will Liverman, described by NPR as “a new, exciting voice in the opera world.” This show will also feature a special collaboration with St. Paul & The Broken Bones, the acclaimed Alabama-based soul band known for their powerhouse vocals and irresistible charm.

Nu Deco at the Bandshell ft. Lucius

Join Nu Deco for a night of vibrant music under the stars on November 18 at the iconic Miami Beach Bandshell with the captivating guest artist Lucius. The duo is known for their mesmerizing harmonies and genre-crossing appeal and have graced prestigious stages, including Coachella, Glastonbury, and Bonnaroo. From Marc Mellits’ evocative Platter of Discontent to Enescu’s enchanting Romanian Rhapsody, plus a dynamic suite of hits from Talking Heads, this electrifying event promises an unforgettable fusion of classical and contemporary music that will resonate long after the final note.
