Cuentos en Macondo - Stories in Macondo Presented by Cuatrogatos Foundation, Inc

"Stories in Macondo" is a monthly cultural event for families whose purpose is to disseminate Hispanic literature and the arts. On Saturday, August 28, the book "Golpe de Suerte" will be presented with the participation of Alexandra López, a Venezuelan writer. The guest author will narrate the story and converse with the audience in the cozy atmosphere of the Macondo Kendall Café. The cultural project "Stories in Macondo" is organized by the Cuatrogatos Foundation, Cinco Books and Macondo Coffee Kendall. Admission is free. Event in Spanish. "Cuentos en Macondo" es un evento cultural mensual para las familias que tiene como propósito difundir la literatura y las artes hispanas. El sábado 28 de agosto se presentará el libro "Golpe de Suerte" con la participación de Alexandra López, escritora venezolana. La autora invitada narrará el cuento y conversará con el público en el acogedor ambiente de Macondo Kendall Café. IFBB Miami Grand Prix - International Elite Pro Qualifier Presented by Attitude is Free & We Spray

This 2nd edition of the IFBB Miami Grand Prix is a Pro Qualifier for athletes to move up to the ranks of the Elite Bodybuilders of the World. Athletes will be judged on their physiques and stage performance in 2 rounds of competition. Team USA will be going against athletes from different areas of the world such as Paraguay, Chile, Philippines, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico and more.

Become a Courageous Creative! Application deadline Friday July 23

In the Summer of 2020, the first Courageous Creatives Cohort of 23 young people was formed. The foundation of the project’s design was to listen, learn, unlearn and devise a creative strategy to engage the facility of creative skill and talent. Empowering these voices served multiple purposes and in turn had a major reciprocal effect.

Gold Coast Railroad Museum - FREE First Saturdays!

The Gold Coast Railroad Museum is dedicated to preserving, exhibiting, and operating historic equipment. It houses over 40 historic rail cars including Presidential Rail Car 'Ferdinand Magellan,' and Florida East Coast Steam Locomotive #153.

Founded in 1957, GCRM was built on the former Naval Air Station Richmond (NASR), the second largest WWII airship base in the United States. With over three miles of tracks, the NASR was an ideal place to build a railroad museum. The Gold Coast Railroad Museum became one of the three official Florida State Railroad Museums in 1984.

Asperger's Are Us Comedy Show Presented by South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center and All Kids Included

Asperger’s Are Us is the first comedy troupe composed of people diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome. Formed in 2010, members Noah Britton, Ethan Finlan, Jack Hanke and New Michael Ingemi, joined forces with one goal in mind – to make you laugh! They rose to fame after the release of the Duplass brothers produced documentary on Netflix and the 2019 follow up docu-series on HBO. The guys describe their brand of comedy for fans of “Monty Python, Andy Kaufman and The Weather Channel.” Run Time: 60 minutes with 10 minutes intermission Recommended for ages 16+. All patrons entering the theater require a ticket, regardless of age. Outside food & beverage are not allowed into the venue. Strollers are not permitted inside the auditorium.
