Topdog/Underdog Presented by Main Street Players

A darkly comic fable of brotherly love and family identity is Suzan-Lori Parks' latest riff on the way we are defined by history. The play tells the story of Lincoln and Booth, two brothers whose names were given to them as a joke, foretelling a lifetime of sibling rivalry and resentment. Haunted by the past, the brothers are forced to confront the shattering reality of their future.

La Soprano Calva Presented by MDCA

The Bald Soprano was the first work of Eugene Ionesco, father of the Theater of the Absurd, and it has been interpreted as a satirical attack against social stereotypes and the bourgeois family of the time. By creating an atmosphere where the characters are physically close but cannot communicate effectively, the main theme is clear, the words, instead of revealing and facilitating communication, obscure and cloud it; and man is a misunderstood and incomprehensible being. This play will be presented in Spanish with simulcast English translation provided through an audio receiver.

Insectos y Bicharracos Presented by FUNDarte

“Insectos y Bicharracos” is a musical theater play inspired by the album of the same name produced by Rita Rosa Ruesga. Do you dare to help find it? “Insectos y Bicharracos” is presented as part of The ZunZún Children's Fest, a FUNDarte series that annually celebrates with families and younger audiences a varied program of bilingual projects that brings together local and visiting artists.
