The Children’s Trust Presents SPOOKY SYMPHONY A Halloween tradition returns to Cutler Bay. The Alhambra Orchestra joins the Greater Miami Youth Symphony for movie themes and eerie classics played live, which is a very different experience from hearing them through a television speaker. Musicians perform in costume. Choose between two family-friendly performances at 7 and 8:30 p.m., making it easier for even the smallest night owls to join the fun. About Orlando Mendez Orlando Mendez, a local Cuban American artist, blends country storytelling with tropical and Latin influences. He gained national recognition as a contestant on The Voice where he earned a four-chair turn from Black Shelton, John Legend, Gwen Stefani, and Camila Cabello. Drawing inspiration from Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, and Zac Brown Band, Mendez has cultivated a signature coastal country sound, singing in both English and Spanish.

The President’s Own US Marine Band Concert The Marine Band is America’s oldest continuously active professional musical organization. Founded in 1798, the band has performed for every U.S. President since John Adams. Known as “The President’s Own” since the days of Thomas Jefferson, the Marine Band’s mission is to provide music for the President of the United States and the Commandant of the Marine Corps. Marine Band Director Lt. Col. Ryan Nowlin has programmed musical selections in the style of the band’s 17th Director John Philip Sousa, who initiated the concert tour tradition in 1891. Concertgoers can expect a mix of works including traditional band repertoire, Sousa marches, contemporary compositions, vocal and instrumental solos, and a patriotic salute to the Armed Forces.
