10 Days of Connection: SFCPA X Mind & Melody FREE FAMILY DRUM JAM Presented by South Florida Center for Percussive Arts

Join us for this special edition of the Free Friday Drum Jam with Mind and Melody for 10 Days of Connection! 10 Days of Connection is a 10-day-long movement that urges locals to connect with others who are not like themselves. Together with hundreds of hosting partners, Radical Partners facilitates connection experiences (free events) that fight divisiveness by bringing people together. Start your weekend with rhythm! Everyone is welcome - families, beginners, and professional musicians alike. No experience needed to participate. Just bring your energy and love for music. Try out the instruments, learn from one another, and just jam out!

Live From Emmet’s Place Presented by Adrienne Arsht Center

Live From Emmet’s Place is the touring version of Emmet Cohen’s live-streamed series, which brought world-class jazz into homes during the pandemic. Cohen and his trio re-create the series onstage with a living room-style jam session complete with top-tier musicianship. Inspired by Harlem rent parties, the show invites audiences to feel as if they’re in Cohen’s New York apartment. Live From Emmet’s Place trio includes Grammy-nominated saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist and bandleader Patrick Bartley Jr., along with trumpeter, educator and curator Bruce Harris. Reuben Rogers will join on bass and Joe Farnsworth on drums.

An Evening With Sheila E. Presented by Adrienne Arsht Center

Grammy winner Sheila E., known as the Queen of Percussion, is a music luminary whose career includes being the first female percussionist honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Growing up in a musical Bay Area family, she drew influences from her father, the legendary Pete Escovedo, and godfather, Tito Puente, leading to collaborations with icons such as Prince, Diana Ross, Herbie Hancock and Beyoncé. Last year, she celebrated her first-ever salsa album, Bailar, featuring collaborations with Gloria Estefan and Rubén Blades, among others, earning her a Grammy win for Best Global Music Performance while continuing to inspire with her dynamic artistry and philanthropic work. In 2025, Sheila E. demonstrated remarkable artistic productivity, releasing two companion albums: Bailar Deluxe, which includes "The Glamorous Life Latin" and two other new songs with a Latin flair, and her first-ever instrumental album, Sheila E. & Friends Bailar Instrumentals, which showcases her creative versatility and percussion mastery.
