The Cleveland Orchestra in Miami: Mahler & Debussy Presented by The Cleveland Orchestra in partnership with the Adrienne Arsht Center

The Cleveland Orchestra New World Symphony Fellows Michael Tilson Thomas, conductor George Li, piano BERLIOZ Overture to Benvenuto Cellini DEBUSSY Fantaisie MAHLER Symphony No. 1 Mahler wrote, “A symphony should be like the world, it should embrace everything,” and his first symphony is just that. From its opening whispers of dawn and birdsong to its grand and glorious finale, Mahler’s symphony is turbulent, passionate, triumphant … and simply exhilarating. New World Symphony and The Cleveland Orchestra unite for this monumental piece, as well as Berlioz’s Overture to Benvenuto Cellini. In between, rising pianist George Li joins Cleveland for Debussy’s intoxicating Fantaisie.

Chopin for All: Cezary Karwowski Presented by the Chopin Foundation of the United States

Cezary Karwowski is the winner of the 2022 Music Teachers National Young Artist Award, one of the most rigorous piano competitions in the country. Karwowski was raised in Poland where he grew up refining his craft at various music schools. Karwowski recently graduated with distinction from Baylor University with a master’s degree in Piano Performance, where he studied under Dr. Bradley Bolen. He is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma in Piano. The Chopin for All free concert series welcomes Cezary to South Florida for his debut concert featuring the music of Poulenc and Chopin.

Chopin for All: Anthony Ratinov Presented by the Chopin Foundation of the United States

Anthony Ratinov enjoys a successful career as both a soloist and chamber musician and has won many prizes at international competitions - most recently receiving the Jury Special Prize (Sascha Gorodnitzki Memorial Prize) at the prestigious 2022 Hilton Head International Piano Competition. He also received the 1st prize at the 2021 Canada International Artists Piano Competition, and the Pianists' Award (1st prize), sponsored by Bösendorfer, at the International Summer Academy in Austria in 2021 and 2019. Anthony is currently a master’s student at the Yale School of Music, studying with Professor Boris Berman and makes his South Florida debut with works by Beethoven, Liszt, Chopin and more!

Family Fest in the Park Thee Phantom & The Illharmonic Orchestra Presented by Arsht Center, Culture Shock Miami, MDC Parks

For the first time, Family Fest is going on the road! Through a partnership with Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces, the Arsht Center introduces Family Fest in the Parks. Thee Phantom & The Illharmonic will be performing at Gwen Cherry Park, 7090 NW 22 Avenue, Miami.

The Arsht Center, Culture Shock Miami and Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces celebrate Hip-Hop History Month and the 50th anniversary of hip-hop with the hip-hop and classical mashup stylings of Thee Phantom & The Illharmonic Orchestra.
